STATEMENT

All of my work reflects the fact that I was raised in the rural South, by women who, without realizing it, were all crafts people. Wherever you were, in whatever season, there was always something that could be created, using whatever was around you.

True to my background, found objects make up a part of my work. My pieces evoke nature, religious imagery, and a strong feminine point of view; and true to the present, a touch of the surreal as well.

I work in silver, copper, brass, bronze, polymer clay, wood rhinestones and found objects. Some of the found objects are vintage costume jewelry which adds a feeling of antiquity. My objects are sculpted, fabricated, forged and assembled.
